Me...Just Mother

Ok so here is some truth you need to hear. You ready? Here goes.
There is no secret to being a successful single parent. As a matter of fact I couldn't tell you what being a successful single parent IS. What I DO know is I have been a single parent for over 20 years and I have some interesting experiences that I surely don't mind talking about and sharing so that maybe someone who is new to this or not sure what in the world they have signed up for when a new little person comes into their lives can learn something.
Honestly I think often if I had had support early on when I was very young and a new mommy I may not have made the mistakes that cost me years and time in my personal life, my education and my career.
What I want to share with you in this blog is a little bit of this and little bit of that and hope that along the way you can take something with you that you will be able to use to be a better you. Which if you do not take time to focus on you, you can pretty much hang up being a great parent.
Sorry guys, don't believe the hype about putting your kids first. Especially as a single parent. That was something I never believed in. I Mean EVER. I always knew I needed time for me, I always knew I needed time to focus on my needs and wants so that I would not take that anger, frustration and confusion out on the babies I chose to bring in this world
So to those of you who run across this post, let us please remember you are who you ARE first, then you are the parent of those little people who chose to come through you for their experience.
I won't bore you nor keep you long but I ask you to do this one thing. Don't believe the hype about being a super parent. It doesn't exist.
"Babies are smart cause parents are stupid", I say that because its true and somehow we make it year after year and moment after moment together.
You are perfect just like you are and THAT is your SECRET FORMULA.
